Paracelsus Clinic Marl introduces Da Vinci Xi surgical robot for gynecology
The Paracelsus Kliniken in Marl, Germany, has installed the Da Vinci Xi robotic system in its Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics. The robot, featuring four articulated arms and a high‑resolution 3‑D view, allows surgeons to perform minimally invasive procedures with smaller incisions, reduced tissue damage and faster patient recovery.
Chief physician Bahar Yildiz, who has overseen more than 185 robot‑assisted operations since 2023, said, “I am very pleased with the Da Vinci Xi: it lets us set new standards in gynecology, enabling the smallest skin cuts, fewer complications and shorter hospital stays.” The system will be used for hysterectomies, oophorectomies, endometriosis treatment, urogynaecological and pelvic‑floor surgeries, as well as oncologic procedures. All operations are carried out by experienced surgeons and a specially trained team, with comprehensive patient counseling beforehand. Managing director Matthias Wagner added that the investment “strengthens our mission to provide safe, individualized and gentle treatment for our patients.”
