Paracuru Companhia de Dança brings tour to Belém

The Paracuru Companhia de Dança is conducting its first tour through Brazil’s Northern region, with a scheduled stop in Belém on September 29 and 30. The Ceará-based group will perform the contemporary dance piece ‘O que você tem na cabeça’, which is inspired by the character ‘O Menino Maluquinho’.

In addition to performances, the company is hosting educational activities led by founder Flávio Sampaio. These include a lecture on the decolonization of ballet teaching in Brazil and a workshop titled ‘O Balé em Corpos Brasileiros’, which focuses on diversity and different cultural experiences. The program also features the launch of Sampaio’s book, ‘Balé Passo a Passo’.
