Paracuru National Dance Seminar explores future of dance education
The National Dance Seminar of Paracuru is taking place from August 13 to 15 in the coastal region of Ceará, Brazil. Hosted at the Centro Cultural Companhia de Dança, the event brings together artists, researchers, and educators from various Brazilian institutions, including UFC, UFBA, and UFAL, to discuss contemporary paradigms in dance education.
The seminar is organized around five thematic axes: “Decelerating as a political gesture,” “The body as thought,” “Technology, power, and the body,” “Presence, bond, and the politics of encounter,” and “Diverse bodies, plural techniques.” The discussions aim to explore the intersection of tradition and reinvention, as well as the relationship between the physical body and technology.
The event is part of the Aldir Blanc National Policy (PNAB) and is realized by the Brazilian Government through the Ministry of Culture, in partnership with the Paracuru Dance School. It also receives support from the Government of Ceará and the Municipality of Paracuru, with production by the Association of Dancers of Paracuru.
