Twenty‑year‑old Turkish distance pilot Efe Şimşeklier launched from Ali Dağı in the Talas district of Kayseri and flew a cross‑country paragliding route of about 160 km to the Ekinözü district of Kahramanmaraş. The flight lasted roughly 5.5–6 hours, during which he reached altitudes of up to 3,500 m and observed peaks near 4,000 m while crossing the Toros Mountains.

Şimşeklier began the journey together with an American pilot; the American landed earlier while Şimşeklier continued to the Turkish destination. He recorded the entire flight with a helmet‑mounted camera and later recounted the experience, noting the challenges of variable mountain weather and the need for constant risk assessment. He previously completed a similar long‑distance flight from Kayseri to the Suçatı area of Kahramanmaraş last year and now aims to exceed 400 km in a future attempt.
