Paraguay authorities continue search for missing 3-year-old Khael Valdez

Authorities in Paraguay are continuing the search for 3-year-old Khael Valdez, who has been missing since October 2 in the Boquerón Department. A video circulating on social media appeared to show a child resembling Khael at a bus terminal in Vallemí, Concepción, but the boy's mother has confirmed the child in the footage is not her son.

In a separate development, police detained a 41-year-old man following searches in Filadelfia, Chaco, where items including children's footwear, diapers, and toys were found. While investigators have seized the man's computer and phone for evidence, Prosecutor Lucrecio Cabrera stated that the mother identified the footwear as not belonging to her son, and the man remains detained pending further evidence.

The boy's mother was recently detained and charged with violation of the duty of care, as the child was under her responsibility when he disappeared. Search operations involving SAR units and local municipal support continue in the region.
