Paraguay focuses on logistics summit and industrialization goals

Paraguay is preparing for the tenth edition of the 'Encuentro de Protagonistas 2026,' a specialized business summit focused on ports, transport, logistics, and foreign trade. Scheduled for August 25 and 26 at the Conmebol Convention Center, the event aims to bring together approximately 200 decision-makers, including CEOs, owners, and government authorities, to discuss infrastructure, the waterway (Hidrovía), technology, and the agro-industrial sector.

In conjunction with these economic discussions, the Paraguayan Chamber of Processors (CAPPRO) is marking its 20th anniversary by advocating for a national agenda focused on industrialization. CAPPRO emphasizes that while Paraguay has successfully expanded its processing capacity and international food supply role, the country must transition from merely increasing production to adding significant value at the source. The organization argues that industrialization should be treated as a long-term state policy to transform agricultural growth into diversified economic development, innovation, and job creation.
