Paraguay official reports teacher depression and anxiety
Paraguayan official Ramírez has highlighted rising levels of depression and anxiety among educators, citing demanding work dynamics and a lack of personal time as contributing factors. He emphasized that teacher well-being is a central component of the educational system and is vital for improving student learning outcomes.
These observations follow the release of the PISA 2025 results for Paraguay, which indicated declining performance levels among 15-year-old students. In reading, scores dropped to 352 points from 373 in 2022; in mathematics, scores fell to 334 from 338; and in science, scores decreased to 355 from 368.
