Paraguay poultry exports surge 92% in volume through September
Paraguay's poultry sector has achieved record-breaking commercial expansion, with export volumes nearly doubling and revenues tripling compared to the same period in 2025. According to data from the National Service for Quality and Animal Health (Senacsa) and the Association of Poultry Farmers of Paraguay (Avipar), exports reached 14,690 tons by the end of September 2026, a 92% increase from the 7,663 tons recorded in 2025.
Financial returns saw a more dramatic rise, climbing from USD 8.3 million to USD 39.6 million, representing growth of over 300%. Blanca Ceuppens, vice president of Avipar, attributed this performance to increased processing volumes, strong demand in African markets, and the opening of high-value commercial destinations in Asia.
Key international markets include Iraq, which accounts for 33% of sales, followed by Vietnam at 14%, and Albania and Kosovo at 8% each. Other participating markets include Angola, Ghana, the Philippines, Curacao, and Taiwan. The industry's growth has been supported by investments in infrastructure, processing technology, and biosecurity programs, allowing plants to operate with high technical and operational efficiency.
