Paraguay readies child protection and health safeguards for World Rally Championship in Itapúa

The Paraguayan Ministry of Children and Adolescence trained 123 officials to implement a child‑protection protocol for the World Rally Championship, scheduled for August 27‑30, 2026 in the border department of Itapúa. The plan includes a red‑vest monitoring system, inter‑institutional coordination, the Abrazo programme and preventive measures to detect and address any vulnerability among children and adolescents during the event.

The Ministry of Health issued comprehensive safety recommendations for spectators, urging the use of potable water, sealed food, personal hygiene items, masks, insect repellent and sunscreen. Attendees with chronic illnesses are advised to carry medication and emergency contacts. Travel safety guidance covers seat‑belt use, helmets, reflective vests, alcohol avoidance and traffic rules. At the rally site, the public is asked to respect restricted zones, use proper sleeping gear, follow fire‑prevention rules, maintain sanitary facilities, and seek medical assistance via the 141 emergency line. Additional advice includes avoiding contact with wildlife, stray animals and practicing safe sexual health measures.
