Paraguay receives fifth A-29 Super Tucano aircraft

Paraguay has received its fifth A-29 Super Tucano aircraft, moving closer to its goal of establishing a six-plane fleet by the end of September. The acquisition ceremony took place at the Military Platform of the First Air Brigade.

President Santiago Peña described the procurement as the largest strategic investment in the country’s aerial defense capacity in nearly 40 years. He emphasized that the aircraft are essential tools for combating transnational organized crime, specifically for monitoring and intercepting irregular flights related to drug trafficking and protecting national sovereignty.

Peña characterized the event as a historical shift in national policy, aiming to modernize the Armed Forces and provide the necessary equipment to ensure internal security and national progress.
