Paraguay reports attempted kidnapping and marijuana lab bust
In Paraguay, a 15-year-old girl reported an attempted kidnapping in the San José Obrero neighborhood. The teenager stated that while walking to the Yasy Cañy National College, an individual in dark clothing, a cap, and glasses emerged from a van and forcibly pulled her into the vehicle. She managed to escape during a moment when the vehicle stopped. The victim reported seeing a hooded child, approximately 8 to 10 years old, inside the van. Local police and investigators are reviewing closed-circuit television footage to identify the suspects.
In a separate operation in Villa Ygatymi, anti-narcotics police dismantled a marijuana laboratory located in a residential home. Authorities seized 222 kilograms of chopped marijuana, 2.04 kilograms of powdered marijuana, 30 grams of wax, and 20 grams of pressed marijuana. The raid also resulted in the confiscation of various extraction tools, including butane gas canisters, pressure tanks, and specialized machinery.
