Paraguay silver economy projected to reach US$ 24 billion by 2043
The silver economy represents a significant emerging market in Paraguay. According to specialist Miriam De Paoli, the population segment over 50 years old is projected to account for US$ 24 billion in Paraguay by 2043.
Currently, this demographic represents US$ 10 billion in annual private consumption, which equates to 19% of the country's total spending. Globally, the silver generation generates US$ 22 trillion in consumption, while in Latin America and the Caribbean, it reaches US$ 2 trillion.
To capitalize on this shift, De Paoli suggests that businesses implement demographic intelligence through five pillars: analyzing customer life stages and habits, transforming product portfolios to meet specific needs, redesigning omnichannel services to be age-accessible, using demographic projections to anticipate demand, and measuring satisfaction and repurchase rates within this specific segment.
