Paraguay to hold fourth Treasury bond auction on September 23

The Paraguayan Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) plans to hold its fourth Treasury bond auction on Wednesday, September 23. This upcoming issuance is part of the government's scheduled emissions under the 2026 National General Budget.

The operation is expected to take place through the Asuncion Stock Exchange, marking the second time this year the auction has been conducted via the exchange rather than exclusively through the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP). The placement will involve the reopening of two bond series with maturity dates set for 2030 and 2035.

This fourth local market issuance aims to secure immediate liquidity to finance the National General Budget. According to the MEF, the strategy is intended to strengthen the local capital market, expand investment alternatives, and support the development of the Paraguayan stock market. To date, the Ministry has placed approximately 2 trillion Guaraníes (roughly USD 338.8 million) in the domestic market through three previous operations.
