Paraguay youth football teams advance training and competition plans
Paraguay's youth national football teams are advancing their preparation for upcoming international competitions. The Under-16 men's team is currently undergoing a training microcycle at the High Performance Sports Center (CARDE) in Ypané under coach Mariano Uglesich. Due to unstable weather, the squad has utilized indoor facilities, focusing on physical conditioning, mobility, and tactical exercises such as small-space pressure and possession-based play.
Meanwhile, Under-20 head coach Antolín Alcaraz has outlined the roadmap for his squad, which aims to qualify for the 2027 World Cup. The team is preparing for the South American Championship in January. As part of this preparation, the Under-20s will participate in a series of friendly matches in Georgia, USA, in mid-November against local selections, Colombia, and Japan. Alcaraz emphasized the importance of monitoring players' minutes in domestic leagues to ensure they are ready for decisive competitive stages.
