Paraguayan Military Hospital launches 3,000 free surgeries under defense‑health agreement
In Paraguay, a partnership between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Health enabled more than 3,000 free surgeries at the Military Hospital. The agreement uses the hospital’s infrastructure while public medical staff and supplies provide the care. Surgeon Victor Luraschi said the program averages about six procedures per day, roughly 30 surgeries per month, with common operations including varicose‑vein and laparoscopic procedures.
In Argentina, the Municipal Hospital San José received a new surgical stretcher donated by its cooperative association. The addition allows two operating rooms to function in parallel, helping to meet growing demand and reduce surgical delays. Mayor Sebastián Abella and health officials highlighted the equipment’s role in improving patient safety and efficiency.
