The Ministry of Childhood and Adolescence (MINNA) in Paraguay rolled out the "Un juguete, miles de sonrisas" campaign to collect toys, board games and storybooks for children’s Day on August 16. The drive, which runs until August 15, aims to redistribute donations to hospitals, protection homes, Indigenous and remote communities across the country. Donations are accepted at the ministry’s central headquarters and its regional offices. Bernarda Casco, director of Early Childhood at MINNA, said: "Every child dreams of receiving a gift on August 16 — we are the bridge that connects generosity with those who need it most."

In Argentina, a community centre (merendero) in the Belgrano neighbourhood of Presidencia Roque Sáenz Peña organised a collection of new or gently‑used toys, clothing, food and other items for the 67 children who attend the centre, hoping none miss the celebration. The effort is led by volunteers such as Claudia Silva.

A second Argentine merendero, "La Saladita" in Córdoba’s Villa Urquiza district, is also gathering toys, milk, cocoa, sweets and other supplies for more than 120 children amid a worsening local economic crisis, preparing a special Children’s Day celebration.
