Public defender threatened in Paraguay; Saltillo receives inclusion award

In Paraguay, the Association of Public Defenders (ADEPPY) has issued a strong condemnation following threats made against public defender Leticia Casaccia Ocampos and her family. The threats reportedly originated from individuals connected to a woman Casaccia represents in three legal proceedings involving divorce, dissolution, and insanity. ADEPPY characterized the incident as a serious precedent that threatens the safety of justice officials and attempts to coerce the transparent exercise of public functions, calling for an immediate investigation by the Public Ministry.

In Mexico, the city of Saltillo has received the Best Local Government Practices Award from Alcaldes de México magazine. The recognition highlights the administration of Mayor Javier Díaz González for its commitment to inclusion, specifically through the work of the Municipal DIF and programs like ‘Ponte las Pilas,’ which provides training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities.
