Paraguayan universities host academic forums and celebrate milestone graduations
Academic institutions in Paraguay are hosting significant events and celebrating milestone achievements in higher education. The National University of Asunción (FACSO-UNA) is preparing its eighth Semana FACSO, scheduled for October 12–17. The event will feature research, training, and debates on social, political, and economic transformations in Paraguay and the region, covering topics such as democracy, inequality, technology, and social movements.
At the National University of Itapúa (UNI), Yanina Ramírez Benítez has become the first Mbya Guaraní professional to graduate from the Faculty of Humanities. Her research focused on the importance of early childhood education conducted in the Mbya Guaraní language to preserve cultural and linguistic identity.
Additionally, the UNI has held several final degree defense sessions. In the Psychology program, students presented research on mental health, autism, and domestic violence. In the Commercial Engineering program, theses addressed topics including carbon credits in Paraguay, digital marketing for local crafts, and the socio-economic impact of electronic payment systems and parking management in Encarnación.
