Paraguay's 'Hambre Cero' feeds 1 million students, Colombia's Nariño sustains 37 k over break

Paraguayan President Santiago Peña announced that the national school‑feeding program "Hambre Cero" now serves more than 1.05 million students, a historic coverage level. A new multi‑year tender covering August 2027 to July 2030 will guarantee uninterrupted meals through 2030, with funding secured via the National School Feeding Fund.

In Colombia’s Nariño department, authorities will distribute food baskets to over 37,000 vulnerable children during the school recess. The initiative, part of the national Programa de Alimentación Escolar (PAE), maintains full coverage for more than 117,000 students in the region and aims to support local food producers while preventing food insecurity during the holidays.
