Paramaribo-Noord narcotics raids lead to drug seizures and arrests

The Suriname Narcotics Brigade, supported by the Arrestation Team, Quick Response Team, and Drone Unit, conducted raids in Paramaribo-Noord on August 18, 2026. The operations took place at the Noer Pierkhan and Van Roysdeal streets following intelligence from the Narcotic Intelligence Unit and a local neighborhood manager.

During the raids, police apprehended four individuals. At the Noer Pierkhan location, suspects F. B. (52) and D. P. (47) were detained. At the Van Roysdeal location, M. M. (39) and R. T. (46) were taken into custody. Authorities seized approximately 174 grams of suspected narcotics, including cocaine, marijuana, and hashish, along with scales, a sealing machine, packaging materials, and local currency.

Following consultation with the Public Prosecutor's Office, three suspects—F. B., M. M., and R. T.—have been placed in custody pending further investigation, while D. P. was released after questioning.
