Paramaribo reports stabbing and armed robbery incidents

Paramaribo has experienced two separate violent incidents involving weapons. In one occurrence on Tammengastraat, a young man sustained stab wounds to his abdomen and chest. He was transported by ambulance to the emergency department and is reported to be in stable condition. The Gooding police station is currently investigating the circumstances and motives behind the attack.

In a separate incident on Oeroeroestraat, a 37-year-old nurse was shot in her right hand during an armed robbery. Two suspects on a black motorcycle approached her vehicle after she had parked in her garage. The assailants shattered her car window and fired a shot, stealing her necklace and bracelet before fleeing. The victim was taken to the Academic Hospital Paramaribo (AZP) for medical treatment, and the Flora police are investigating the robbery.
