Paramedic assaulted during emergency response in Črnomelj

A paramedic from the Črnomelj Health Center was assaulted while responding to an emergency call in the Lokev area near Črnomelj on the evening of September 29.

According to reports, the medical team was dispatched to a Roma settlement. Following protocol for such interventions, the police were notified to meet the ambulance on the Črnomelj bypass. While waiting for the police to arrive, a man approached the vehicle. When the paramedic stepped out of the ambulance to provide immediate assistance, the individual reportedly grabbed her by the neck and struck her head against the vehicle door while shouting threats.

The paramedic sustained minor injuries. The Črnomelj Health Center has confirmed the attack and stated that they have notified the police, the Municipality of Črnomelj, the dispatch service, and the Ministry of Health. Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
