Paramedic Marian Dăscălescu dies during service in Iași

Marian Dăscălescu, a 58-year-old paramedic, passed away during his service at the Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases in Iași, Romania. The incident occurred during the night between Friday and Saturday after he had transported a patient to the medical unit.

Colleagues discovered him unwell in the ambulance and immediately requested emergency assistance. A SMURD crew intervened, and resuscitation efforts were continued at the ‘Sf. Spiridon’ County Emergency Clinical Hospital. Despite extensive medical intervention, during which he reportedly suffered 21 cardiac arrests, doctors were unable to save his life.

According to his family, Dăscălescu suffered from several underlying medical conditions. He had dedicated 30 years of his life to emergency medical services, and the SAJ Botoșani has expressed condolences following his death.
