Paramount and Rick Caruso to reopen Bay Theater in Pacific Palisades

Paramount Pictures and developer Rick Caruso have announced an agreement to reopen the Bay Theater in Pacific Palisades. The venue has been closed since January 2025 following damage caused by wildfires in the area.

The theater will be operated by The Lot, a luxury dine-in cinema chain, and is expected to feature first-run theatrical releases, repertory titles, and special events. The facility will include luxury seating, dining, and signature cocktails. Plans are also underway to host experiential activations and immersive theatrical moments.

A grand opening date is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, with the reopening targeted for later this year. Skydance Co-CEO David Ellison stated that the restoration is intended to help bring the theater back to life as a community gathering space.
