Paramount+ tests limited free streaming option on Android

Paramount+ has begun testing a limited free access model on Android devices, serving as a sampling mechanism to encourage paid subscriptions. Under this experimental tier, users can browse the application and stream up to two episodes of selected programs without a paid membership or commitment.

This strategy differs significantly from Pluto TV, which is also owned by Paramount. While Pluto TV operates as a fully free, ad-supported service providing unlimited access to live channels and on-demand content, the Paramount+ trial is designed as a “free front porch” to showcase premium content and convert casual viewers into subscribers through a short preview before a paywall is encountered.
