Paramount+ to launch 'Trauma' thriller series starring Richard Madden

Paramount+ announced the production of a new medical‑action thriller series tentatively titled “Trauma.” The show stars Richard Madden as Jim Marchant, an ex‑Royal Marines doctor now working in emergency medicine. In the plot, a group of terrorists takes a busy London hospital hostage, holding the British prime minister captive during surgery, and Marchant must move floor‑by‑floor to rescue patients and staff.

“Trauma” is created and written by Geoff Bussetil, directed by Daniel Syrkin, and produced by Lionsgate Television together with 42 Management & Production. The series is a co‑production that also involves Prime Video and will be released exclusively on Paramount+ in all markets except the United Kingdom and Ireland. Production is scheduled to begin in October.
