Paramount to Reboot “A Nightmare on Elm Street” Horror Franchise

Paramount Pictures, through its new label Paramount Primal, announced a reboot of the Freddy Krueger horror series originating with Wes Craven’s 1984 film "A Nightmare on Elm Street." The project will be produced by J.D. Lifshitz and Raphael Margules, with Craven’s widow Iya Labunka and son Jonathan Craven serving as executive producers on behalf of the estate. No title, cast, director or release date has been disclosed yet. The original film spawned eight sequels and helped launch New Line Cinema, and its legacy remains a cultural touchstone for horror fans worldwide.
