Paramount+ renews Dutton Ranch for Season 2 after record streaming numbers

Paramount+ confirmed that its Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch will return for a second season ahead of the first‑season finale. Season 1 ran from 15 May to 3 July 2026, drawing about 12.9 million viewers in its first week – the biggest debut for a Paramount+ original series. The show earned an 8.4 rating on IMDb and an 89 % score on Rotten Tomatoes, prompting the platform to announce the renewal early.

Leaders of the service praised the series: Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+, said the duo of Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler are “among the most iconic on television,” while Matt Thunell, President of Paramount Television Studios, said the drama “has resonated with audiences in a powerful way.”

The renewal includes a change in showrunner: Benjamin Cavell will replace Chad Feehan for season 2. Lead actors Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are confirmed to reprise their roles as Beth and Rip. Production is expected to resume in late 2026 with a tentative mid‑2027 premiere. The season‑1 finale left fans with a cliffhanger involving the kidnapping of the character Carter by the antagonist Mariano Reyes.
