Paraná agriculture output reaches R$212.6 bn as Brazil's national VBP totals R$1.4 trn

The Paraná State Secretariat of Agriculture reported that the Gross Value of Agricultural Production (VBP) for the state in 2025 amounted to R$212.6 billion, a nominal increase of 13 % over 2024 and about 9 % when adjusted for inflation. Livestock contributed 53 % of the state's VBP, generating R$111.7 billion, while crops such as soy, corn and wheat drove a 12 % real rise in the agricultural share, which accounted for 43 % of the total.

At the national level, the Ministry of Agriculture's monthly indicator showed a VBP of R$1.4 trillion in May 2026, representing a 4.6 % drop from the previous year. Agriculture alone provided R$908.8 billion (64 %) of the total, with livestock adding R$510.2 billion (36 %). While overall prices fell for key commodities, the potato, bean and cassava sectors posted notable growth, and bovine production rose 8.9 %, keeping it the largest single item in the national VBP.
