Paraná and Minas Gerais Record Surge in Agribusiness Output

The agricultural sector in Brazil’s state of Paraná more than doubled its gross production value between 2019 and 2025, reaching R$ 212.6 billion. Livestock drove the growth, contributing 53 % of the total and generating R$ 111.7 billion, while soybeans and corn pushed agricultural output to R$ 91.2 billion. Expanded forest‑product revenues and record port movements also boosted the state’s GDP growth to 2.8 % in 2025.

In Minas Gerais, agribusiness GDP rose to R$ 279 billion in 2025 – an 18 % increase over the previous year – largely because product prices rose about 16 % while physical output grew only 1.7 %. The sector now represents 24.1 % of the state’s economy, the highest share since 2010. Gains were led by soy, corn, coffee, cacao and livestock, with agro‑industry and related services adding another R$ 14.2 billion.
