Paraná announces summer events and coastal infrastructure investments

The Government of Paraná has announced a series of large-scale investments and events for the state's coastline during the 2026/2027 summer season.

As part of the ‘Verão Maior Paraná 2027’ program, free musical performances featuring national artists will be held in Matinhos and Pontal do Paraná throughout January and February. Confirmed performers include Jorge & Mateus, Thiaguinho, Chitãozinho & Xororó, and several others across various genres such as sertanejo, pop, and rock. The program also includes sports and leisure activities, such as sand sports championships.

In addition to the cultural programming, the state government confirmed R$ 321.4 million in infrastructure projects for Guaratuba. This includes a R$ 296.8 million project to revitalize the coastline, which involves beach nourishment (expanding sand strips by up to 100 meters) across 4.7 kilometers of beaches. The works will utilize approximately 1.1 million cubic meters of sand and include the construction of maritime structures to control erosion, drainage improvements, and the creation of new sidewalks, bike lanes, and accessibility features. A separate revitalization of the Historical Waterfront (Orla Histórica) is also planned.
