Faxinal teams secure titles at Jogos Abertos do Paraná

The municipality of Faxinal achieved significant success in the 2026 Jogos Abertos do Paraná held in Arapongas. The city's futsal team secured the championship in the Macroregional – Silver Series category after a 6-5 victory against Bandeirantes. The winning team, coached by Marcílio Vicente, was led by standout player Vini, who scored three goals during the final.

Additionally, Faxinal's men's handball team earned second place in Group A of the macroregional phase. The team, led by coach Eder Abreu Costa, secured their runner-up position following a decisive 32-12 win over Andirá. Mayor Hermes Santa Rosa publicly commended the athletes and technical staff for their discipline and performance in these traditional state competitions.
