Paraná Civil Defense sends relief to hail-damaged municipalities

The Civil Defense of Paraná is distributing thousands of roof tiles to assist municipalities affected by severe hailstorms and heavy rains. Between Saturday and Sunday, approximately 17,400 tiles were scheduled for delivery to various locations, including Santa Maria do Oeste, Reserva, Cândido de Abreu, and Morretes.

In Reserva, hail damaged approximately 200 homes, leaving three people displaced. Santa Maria do Oeste was heavily impacted, with over 500 residences reporting damage. The storms affected 16 municipalities in total, causing significant damage to residential roofs across the region.

In addition to roofing materials, the state is providing mattresses, hygiene kits, cleaning kits, and food baskets to affected residents. Regional Civil Defense teams remain in the field to provide technical support and assist local governments in documenting the damage required to declare states of emergency.
