Paraná Councilor Darío Báez Declared Dead, City Announces Three-Day Mourning

Councilor Darío Adolfo Báez, a member of the Paraná City Council in Argentina, was found dead in his family home on Tuesday. The circumstances of his death are pending investigation by local authorities. In response, the municipal government, led by Mayor Rosario Romero, issued a decree establishing three days of official mourning throughout the city, with the national flag flown at half‑mast on public buildings.

Báez, 45, had previously been elected as a representative of the La Libertad Avanza coalition before forming his own bloc in March 2025 and sponsoring a municipal suicide‑awareness initiative. The council and local officials expressed condolence to his family and noted his involvement in community and legislative activities.
