Paraná invests billions in road duplication and upgrades
The Paraná state government, through the Department of Roads (DER/PR), is advancing several major road projects. The PR‑445 corridor between Londrina and Mauá da Serra is being duplicated over 67.73 km with a total investment of R$ 839.3 million; two outer sections are complete and the remaining 24.89 km segment is slated for finish by April 2028.
A new environmental decree (Decree 9.541) has accelerated the duplication of the PRC‑466 road linking Guarapuava, Turvo and Pitanga, streamlining licensing while maintaining strict technical standards.
Conservation work on PR‑442 and PR‑443 between Uraí and Rancho Alegre is underway, involving resurfacing, a new 4‑cm asphalt concrete layer and updated signage, backed by R$ 156.72 million and scheduled for completion in February 2029.
Pavement of the new PR‑990 in Rebouças has reached 51 % of its 12.6 km stretch, with R$ 87.3 million invested, a new 44.8 m bridge finished, and the project expected to be completed by the end of the year.
These initiatives aim to improve traffic flow, reduce freight costs for agribusiness and industry, and promote regional economic development.
