Paraná DJ banned from performing over child support arrears

A family court in Paraná, Argentina, has prohibited a local DJ from performing at a venue near the Thompson resort due to repeated failure to pay child support for his three children, aged 12, 6, and 5.

The judge issued the order after several previous summonses to settle the debt within 24 hours went unheeded. The court warned that event organizers or venue owners could be held “solidariamente responsable por los alimentos adeudados” (jointly liable for the owed alimony) under Article 551 of the Civil and Commercial Code if they allow the DJ to work without the debt being settled.

Furthermore, the magistrate authorized the use of public force to remove the individual from the premises if he attempted to work without paying. The Entre Ríos Police Gender Violence Office was requested to assist in enforcing the prohibition of entry or re-entry.
