Paraná energy transition roadmap presented to support low-carbon economy

State Deputy Maria Victoria has presented the ‘Roadmap of the Energy Transition in Paraná’ during a session of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná. The document was developed by the Parliamentary Front for Renewable Hydrogen and Biofuels and aims to outline the state's potential, challenges, and priorities in the production of renewable energies and fuels.

The roadmap will be submitted to the president of COP30, André Aranha Corrêa do Lago, to contribute to international debates regarding the low-carbon economy. The study focuses on developing several value chains, including corn ethanol, biodiesel, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), biogas, biomethane, and renewable hydrogen.

Maria Victoria emphasized that the energy transition serves as an economic and industrial development strategy rather than just an environmental agenda. The plan highlights the potential to convert agricultural, agro-industrial, and sanitation waste into clean energy and fertilizers, promoting a circular economy and attracting industrial investment to the region.
