Paraná expands telehealth network and equips municipal doctors with dermatoscopes

Municipal doctors in Brazil's Paraná state received hands‑on training on skin‑lesion assessment and the use of dermatoscopes, aimed at improving early dermatological diagnosis in primary‑care units.

The state's Telessaúde program, now operating in all 399 municipalities, provides remote ECG, dermatology, spirometry, oral‑health and other specialist consultations. Daily telessaúde contacts have risen to about 60, and the platform has issued over 384,000 tele‑diagnostic reports, generating an estimated savings of R$ 3.8 million for municipal health funds. New equipment, including thousands of dermatoscopes and electrocardiographs, is being distributed to expand coverage further.
