Paraná Highway Police Battalion celebrates 62 years

The Paraná Military Police (PMPR) celebrated the 62nd anniversary of the Highway Police Battalion (BPRv) during a ceremony on Thursday. The event honored military and civilian personnel, veterans, and partner institutions for their contributions to highway safety across more than 12,000 kilometers of state roads.

Key honors included the Highway Merit Medals, awarded to various officers and representatives from agencies such as Detran-PR, DER-PR, the Federal Highway Police (PRF), and the State Military Justice. Sergeant Osvaldo Vicentini Junior received the Blood Medal for his actions during a police intervention in Maringá in August 2023, which led to the recovery of stolen cargo and the seizure of weapons and vehicles.

The ceremony also included a posthumous tribute to Subtenente Alceu Reinaldo de Paula, a pioneer of highway policing in the state, and recognized winners of the Highway Operational Challenge, a competition designed to improve technical integration among battalion companies.
