Brazil urban updates: Traffic and utility disruptions in Curitiba, Maringá, and Manaus
Various urban infrastructure and utility updates are affecting several Brazilian cities.
In Curitiba, significant traffic changes are underway. A 60-day road closure on Rua Vital Brasil in the Portão neighborhood is set to occur, alongside works in Santa Quitéria, Boqueirão, and Capão Raso. Additionally, construction of a new pedestrian walkway on the BR-277 highway near Parque Peladeiro has altered access to the Cajuru district, requiring drivers to use a new entrance at km 78,030.
Maringá is also undergoing major roadwork as part of the Eixo Monumental project. A section of Avenida Tiradentes between Avenida Herval and Avenida Duque de Caxias will be completely closed to facilitate the construction of an elevated walkway connecting Praça Renato Celidônio to Praça da Catedral. This project aims to improve pedestrian safety and urban drainage.
In Manaus, electrical maintenance at the Alvorada Hydraulic Sector is expected to cause water supply interruptions or fluctuations across 137 different areas, including various neighborhoods and residential complexes. Normalization is anticipated within 24 hours following the completion of the work.
