Paraná highways undergo maintenance and expansion works
Infrastructure maintenance and expansion projects are underway on several highways in Paraná, Brazil.
On the PR-445 highway, the Consórcio Nova Rota has scheduled controlled detonations as part of duplication and restoration works. These activities, set for October 14, 15, and 17, will require temporary barriers and a ‘stop-and-go’ traffic system. Specific detonations are planned for various kilometer markers, which may cause traffic delays. Drivers are advised to follow signage and reduce speed during these operations.
Simultaneously, the Department of Highways of Paraná (DER/PR) is conducting pavement conservation services on the PR-473 between Nova Laranjeiras and Espigão Alto do Iguaçu. This work involves milling worn pavement and applying new hot asphalt concrete. These services are part of the ProMAC program, a R$ 63.34 million investment aimed at maintaining 182.14 kilometers of roads in the region through February 2029. Traffic on the PR-473 is currently being managed via a stop-and-go system to ensure safety during construction.
