Paraná hosts 37th Argentine Mammalogy Conference
The 37th Argentine Mammalogy Conference (JAM) is being held in Paraná, Entre Ríos, bringing together approximately 420 researchers and specialists dedicated to the study and conservation of mammals. Organized by the Argentine Society for the Study of Mammals (SAREM) in collaboration with local authorities, the event serves as a national platform for scientific exchange and the strengthening of research networks.
Activities are distributed between the Provincial Museum of Natural and Anthropological Sciences “Profesor Antonio Serrano” and the Provincial Convention Center. The program includes over 70 conferences, symposia, and workshops covering topics such as data analysis, AI-driven animal detection via UAVs, and species distribution modeling.
Scientific discussions at the event include research relevant to the national project for the reintroduction of jaguars in the Entre Ríos Delta. This initiative requires environmental impact studies to support provincial biodiversity. The Museo Serrano, which has been involved with the conference since its inception in 1985, continues to play a central role in hosting pre-congress training sessions.
