Paraná invests R$ 89.1 million to pave Estrada do Socavão in Castro

The government of Paraná has approved a R$ 89.1 million investment to fully pave the Estrada do Socavão, a key 8.6‑kilometre road linking the Socavão district with the city of Castro in the Campos Gerais region. The project includes laying asphalt over the remaining stretch, constructing a new viaduct over the railway, and upgrading drainage and safety features.

State infrastructure chief Sandro Alex highlighted the work as a historic step that will improve safety, reduce transport costs, and stimulate further investment in an area known for strong dairy and agricultural production. The upgraded road is expected to benefit thousands of residents, farmers, students and local businesses by shortening travel times, lowering vehicle wear, and enhancing access to health, education and market services.
