Paraná launches $296 M Fábrica de Ideias innovation hub in Curitiba

Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior signed an order on 3 June to begin construction of the Fábrica de Ideias complex on the site of the former Brahma/Ambev factory in Curitiba’s Rebouças district. The state will invest R$ 296.5 million to build a 34,000 m² facility on a 50,000 m² parcel, preserving historic façades through a sustainable retrofit.

The hub will host technology firms, startups, research institutions, government offices, and cultural venues, including extensions of the Museu de Arte Contemporânea do Paraná and the Museu da Comunicação e Inovação. It is intended to become Latin America’s largest innovation and creative‑economy centre, linked with the nearby Vale do Pinhão ecosystem. The project is coordinated by the State Secretariat of Cities and executed by the Inova Paraná consortium (Cesbe Engenharia, RAC Engenharia, JPM Arquitetura, ArquiBrasil, Encimar). Audi do Brasil contributed a design concept and R$ 4.1 million for the executive project. Mayor Eduardo Pimentel and other officials highlighted the expected boost to jobs, especially for young people, and the broader revitalisation of the neighbourhood.
