Paraná launches blood donation campaign for Red June

The Paraná State Government, through the Health Secretariat (Sesa), has launched the ‘Doe sangue, doe vida’ (Donate blood, donate life) campaign. This initiative is part of Red June, a month dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of blood donation, coinciding with World Blood Donor Day on June 14.

The campaign aims to increase donor numbers across the 23 units of the Paraná Hematology and Hemotherapy Center (Hemepar) to maintain essential stocks. These supplies are distributed to 384 public, private, and philanthropic hospitals, supporting 95.6% of the beds in the state's Unified Health System (SUS).

Since 2019, the state government has invested approximately R$ 238 million in equipment and supplies to modernize the blood cycle. In 2025, Paraná has already recorded 87,000 donations, following a total of over 204,000 donations throughout the previous year.
