Paraná Lee Book Fair generates 137 million pesos in sales

The XIV Paraná Lee Book Fair, held from August 14 to 17 at Sala Mayo in the Puerto Nuevo, resulted in approximately 137 million pesos in book sales. According to a survey conducted by the Municipality of Paraná’s Subsecretariat of Production and the Subsecretariat of Tourism, an estimated 6,289 books were sold during the four-day event.

The fair recorded 14,226 visits, representing approximately 12,647 unique individuals. Weekend attendance was particularly high, with Saturday and Sunday accounting for 63% of the total visitors. The data indicates that nearly one in five visitors traveled from outside the city of Paraná.

Beyond direct book sales, the event generated economic movement in other sectors linked to the fair, serving as both a cultural policy initiative and a mechanism for strengthening the economic activity of the publishing and bookstore sectors.
