Paraná Legislative Assembly approves new cultural heritage recognitions

The Legislative Assembly of Paraná has approved several bills aimed at recognizing and preserving various cultural traditions and identities within the state.

One significant measure, Bill 369/2026, recognizes the Electronic Music Movement as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Paraná and establishes February 1st as the State Day of Electronic Music. This date commemorates the 1985 opening of the Sistema X club in Curitiba. Additionally, Bill 552/2026 recognizes the artisanal beverage cataia, a traditional drink from the Paraná coast made from native Atlantic Forest leaves, as state intangible heritage.

Furthermore, the assembly approved Bill 102/2026, initiated by Deputy Marli Paulino, which establishes August 15th as the Day of Korean Culture. This date will be added to the state's official calendar to promote Korean artistic, gastronomic, and historical contributions to the region's diverse social and economic landscape.
