Paraná Legislative Assembly reports record visitor numbers and proposes expanded missing‑person alert

The Assembleia Legislativa do Paraná recorded nearly 3,000 guided‑tour visitors in the first half of 2026, with 84 visits and the highest attendance in April (857 participants). Visitors included university students, school groups and civic‑education programs from across the state.

In the same legislative session, deputies are considering a bill to broaden the state’s Alerta para Resgate de Pessoas (ARP) system. Proposed by deputy Flávia Francischini, the amendment would extend rapid‑response alerts to elderly people, individuals with disabilities and those on the autism spectrum, following the recent death of 5‑year‑old autistic boy João Gabriel, who disappeared for two days in Araucária. The Assembly will also debate related measures on rare‑disease awareness and auditor‑career reforms.

These initiatives reflect the Assembly’s dual focus on public outreach and policy changes aimed at protecting vulnerable populations.
