Paraná legislature approves fines for vape use in collective spaces

The Constitution and Justice Commission of the Legislative Assembly of Paraná has approved Bill 32/2025, which seeks to restrict the use of electronic cigarettes, vapes, and pods in collective environments. The proposed legislation applies to both public and private spaces that are totally or partially enclosed throughout the state of Paraná.

The bill establishes financial penalties for both users and establishments. Individuals caught violating the rule face an initial fine of 20 UPF/PR, which doubles upon recidivism. Establishments that permit consumption or fail to prevent it face a fine of 100 UPF/PR, also subject to doubling for repeat offenses. Additionally, venues that fail to display required prohibition signage may be fined 30 UPF/PR.
