Paraná municipalities intensify drainage works to prevent flooding

Municipal governments in Paraná are intensifying infrastructure maintenance to mitigate risks from extreme weather and heavy rainfall.

In Paranaguá, the Municipal Secretariat of Works is conducting cleaning and desilting of channels, galleries, and drainage networks. These preventive measures, guided by the State Civil Defense, aim to reduce flooding impacts. The city has identified critical points for intervention, including previous works in Parque São João and recent cleaning of the Alaor and Acará channels to assist with water flow.

Similarly, in São José dos Pinhais, the Secretariat of Public Works and Roads is mobilizing teams to respond to recent heavy rains. Efforts include clearing storm drains, maintaining drainage devices, correcting erosions, and signaling high-risk areas to ensure safety for pedestrians and drivers.
